My name is Jake Woods. I moved to Heredia, Costa Rica a little over a year ago and it is the best decision that I have ever made. I moved here with my girlfriend from Kansas (she is a Tica) after she graduated from KU.
My life is a little different than most of the other norteamericanos (gringos) that come to study or visit. Unfortunately, I don’t get to live the life of a tourist so my days are not very exciting or eventful. I still have to go to work…god damnit! While it is exciting to live in another country, most people tend to think that their lives will change drastically when they move. I promise that you still have to do the mundane things that you are used to doing, only with added difficulty, but that’s where the fun comes in, right?!
